About us
The PDDG meets every second year. The aim of the group is to encourage open and unscripted discussion of all aspects of the degradation and stabilisation of polymers, in an informal atmosphere, and to give younger researchers the opportunity to meet and discuss their work.
Although there is an invited group of distinguished speakers, the committee particularly aims to encourage presentations by younger scientists. Previous generous sponsorship of the PDDG by industrial companies has helped us to keep the meeting costs as low as possible and to subsidise attendance by students.
The officers of the PDDG are:
Chair: Professor Sahar Al-Malaika
Polymer Processing & Performance, PPP, Research Unit,
School of Engineering & Applied Science, Aston University, Aston Trianglr, Birmingham, B4 7ET, UK
Secretary: Dr. Mogon Patel
AWE plc, Aldermaston, Reading, Berkshire, RG7 4PR
Treasurer:Professor N.S. Allen
Department of Biology, Chemistry and Health Science, Manchester Metropolitan University, Chester Street, Manchester M1 5GD, UK
The next meeting of the PDDG is in the beautiful resort of Sestri Levante in Italy. The conference will run from the 5th to the 7th September 2011. We are now seeking oral or poster contributions and you may also register using the links on this website.
Welcome to the new and improved PDDG website. It contains all the information and tools to plan your attendance at our conference and to keep you up to date with changes and news in relation to the field of polymer degradation. Please let us have your feedback on the new site using the contact us link on the navigation bar above.
